Design Management Europe Award 2008
The DME Award is a competition to identify and award the best design management practices in the European Union 30 Member and Candidate states. The award sets out to recognise the challenges met by organisations that have been successfully addressed through a strategic use of design.
The contribution that the design disciplines can make to the success of an organisation largely depends on how well such activities are managed and integrated. From a well-prepared brief for a design consultant to the complete integration of a design culture; all such practices require strong leadership and careful planning.
Organisation DME Award 2008
After a successful DME Award 2007 competition, the University of Wales Institute Cardiff has been awarded the privilege of hosting the Design Management Europe Awards 2008. The DME Award 2008 ceremony will be located in the Wales Millennium Centre on the 13th October 2008. The gala event will showcase the DME winners and their merits to an international audience in the magnificent Donal Gordon auditorium.
Located in the heart of Cardiff Bay the DME Award provides a central focus for a series of other key events. Across the Bay in St. David's Hotel will be an International Design Conference organised by Design Wales. A workshop on Design Management will be held on the afternoon of the award ceremony and will provide a platform for prize winners to share their experiences with local businesses.
The DME Award in Cardiff will also provide a central focus for the 2008 Cardiff Design Festival being held that week. A full calendar or exhibitions, events and parties will provide a wide choice for our visitors.
