Kick-off 4th edition Design Management Europe Award!
DME Award 2010 organized and hosted in Lisbon

The competition is the first of its kind to award the management contribution to successful design. Over the past three years the award attracted highly innovative and progressive companies from across Europe and the organization is looking forward again to a strong list of candidates for this year’s edition. This year the new DME network (N-DME) will provide a strong base for the widespread involvement of all European countries and high quality participants in the competition.

The 4th edition of the DME Award is being organized by the Centro Português de Design. The DME Award Ceremony, taking place on the 10th of December 2010, will be hosted in Lisbon (Portugal). In this edition, the DME Award Ceremony will be combined with two international events taking place simultaneously in Lisbon: the Innovation Festival (IF... Lisboa) that will be held during the first two weeks of December 2010, and the internationally acclaimed Architecture Triennial, that will take place from October 14th 2010 until January 16th 2011.

The DME Award Ceremony will be honored by the presence of Lisbon’s DME Steering Committee members: Lisbon’s Mayor António Costa (t.b.c.) and the internationally renowned architect Álvaro Siza, the Honorary President of the DME Award 2010. The ceremony will be held in MUDE (Lisbon’s Design and Fashion Museum). After the DME Award Ceremony, guests are invited to visit the DME Award 2010 Exhibition, which will showcase the highlights of this year’s edition of the competition.

Registration and Guidelines
Companies and organisations are challenged to apply for the DME Award by demonstrating how design is integrated in their strategy, management and processes to achieve commercial gains or organisational objectives. Categories for the award cover a wide spectrum of businesses and organisations; from micro companies to multi-nationals, service and manufacturing sectors, public agencies and non profit organisations.

Winning a DME Award means being recognised by an international jury of design management experts assessing against criteria of leadership, innovation, co-ordination and results!

Companies interested in applying for the DME Award are requested to fill in the DME Award questionnaire and to prepare a poster display showcasing their design management strategy to be evaluated by an international panel of renowned jury members.
